CIM ? Advice needed

My 1.8 VVT has developed a problem When you turn the key, either to the on or start, the power steering does not work first turn. Turn it off / on and it's fine. It has also once refused to start, and yesterday got an ABS light and rev counter 'needle sweep'

I believe it to be the CIM - any other ideas ? ( NOT ECU / UEC / battery ) - swapped out already

I did try to swap the CIM last week, but couldn't get the new one to accept the old keys - despite following on line guides. It gave a program error when trying to pair old key, although I understood I could do this ?

Other than try again with a brand new key, and ideas ?

Got a couple of cim’s here not sure there’ll be any good as the sensor ??? But also got t2win with oem mdi if you want to try again in programming.

Cheers Jon - I have the spare CIM and may try agin this weekend with a blank key. What concerns me is the fact I couldn't match old keys to new CIM when I thought this was possible with the un-named program. I've coded new keys ok in the past, but never mucked with the CIM

From someone else I helped ages ago with cim he got it in programmed then removed and added his old keys, but if you want to try mdi and the different versions on my lappy give us a shout, you got my no.

I programmed the 2nd key with opcom as long you have the car pass but that's easy to obtain from CID
