I have a 2003 Vectra 2.0 DTI
My Engine blow up on the motorway, had to get towed back. A mechanic friend has taken a look at the engine and found the crankshaft has broken in two.
The car has done approx 112K with full vaux service history. Last serviced at 95K,I did an interim oil and filter change at 108K using Mobile 1. It had plenty of oil at the time of death and had been running beautifully up to 24 hrs before.
Anyone know of this happening to other people ? Could it be a known issue ? Could I get Vauxhall to admit supplying a defective part from new? Don’t think I have much chance but perhaps you guys may know of something.
Think this is going to cost a fortune for a new lump !
