Default Snow Foam with Halfords Pressure Washer

    Hi
I've got a halfords pressure washer with a built in detergent tank. I want to give the snow foam a bash, do you think using the detergent tank with the lance on low pressure will give good enough results or should i go for the Karcher foam attachment (£15) ?
I dont really wash it enough to spend £50 on the specialist foam lances.
And before I end out at halfords do they sell any brands of snow foam? I cant see any on the website.

    thanks

Get the Karcher lance mate, the foam works on high pressure. And even if halfords did sell snow foam I wouldn't go anywhere near it.

its going to have to be the karcher lance then as the current lance will only suck the detergent through on low pressure. Got to go to halford to get the karcher lance so i figured I'd save on postage of they sold it as well.
    cheers

The Karcher only has high pressure water when the relevant lance is attached (and set to high pressure). With the foam lance it works on low pressure - same pressure that comes out just the handle with no lance attached.

I've wondered myself how well the detergent bottle would work at foaming - keep meaning to do a comparison with mine. I'd have thought the separate Karcher foam lance would be better than the detergent bottle of the pressure washer - must do a comparison one day.

mmm, i'll have to detach the end of the lance that controls the pressure on my halfords washer to fit the karcher bottle, so my options are to use the Karcher foam bottle on it at high pressure or chuck the foam into the detergent bottle on the pressure washer and use the low pressure setting on the halfords lance. I'll try and find some foam in the shops at the weekend and see what happens.

Yep, the Karcher bottle will only fit straight onto the handle.

If it's the same as the Karcher washers, then it only draws whatever is in the detergent bottle when it's on low pressure. If the lance is set to high pressure then it doesn't draw from the detergent bottle - on a Karcher washer anyway, but I have a feeling that Halfords ones are rebadged Karcher?

If it's the same, then your options are Karcher foam attachment on low pressure (by default) or detergent bottle with lance on low pressure.

As for SnowFoam - I've never seen anything like that in Halfords (or anywhere else locally - usually a mail order job from places like Clean & Shiny). If you've got some normal car shampoo - like AutoGlym Bodywork Conditioner Shampoo for example, that works quite well in the Karcher attachment. If you're feeling flush, use it neat and it gives a decent foaming (but you'll go through the shampoo in no time if you use it like that for successive foamings) - or mix it 50/50 with some warm water to give a slightly reduced effect but still decent enough. It'll certainly get you by until you get some proper SnowFoam stuff (which I keep meaning to get and try myself! )

got the Karcher lance yesterday, got all set up today to wash it.... and the Karcher bottle doesnt fit onto the Halfords lance! Sodding typical. I might get 1litre of snow foam off ebay just to see how it works through the halfords pw detergent tank. Or i might just stick to the car wash ! Anyone want to buy a never used (but has been filled) Karcher foam bottle ?
