Yep, that's what i did. Signumareasa also came with no car pass but a friend of mine manage to read the car pass from the display. Faster and cheaper to read it from the screen display than asking it from opel, oh wait, what opel

Well i bought mine as i had a TID instead of CIM and the rest did not cooperate... went to the dealers parts counter, gave them my reg number, wait one day and boom the carpass was produced, did cost £25 pounds incl vat. But it was correct and worked like a charm.

as an update I was able to get the car pass on the Monday that just passed from the dealership, but the dealers service were not able to recalibrate the steering angle sensor. They had their computer plugged in and they typed in my security code. that failed. so they said I will need a CIM replacement. They gave me the phone number of another mechanic who is an expert in this area. so, two weeks from now I will be going to that garage so that I could get a CIM swap. it’s a never-ending story.

you know there’s a thread, where one of our members who happens to be a hardware engineer, took apart. The CIM diagnosed what the problem was, and essentially concluded that there is a chip on the board that is doomed to fail, and this chip exists in many different cars in many different places, and no matter what it seems to always fail because as I understand it, there’s some issue due to temperature that affects its performance and essentially my takeaway with this is that every CIM is doomed to fail at one point or another so the whole situation is bittersweet... even if now if I manage to switch my CIM and I get one from a donor car it may work for who knows how long maybe six months a year two years three years five or ten. we don’t know, but what we do know is that it’s doomed to fail at any point because of the electronic components that are inside.

Quick update: I took the car to my independent mechanic so that he can work on the swirl flap problem. He took it apart and checked it and said the swirl flaps are working fine. The vaccum actuator is working fine. He said electronically and mechanically everything seems to be fine, so he cannot understand why the car is getting the swirl flap fault code P1110-62. He thinks there must be some sort of sensor damage, because the swirl flaps are opening and closing just fine but the car doesn't notice that this is happening. As a solution, he said that what he could do is order a used intake manifold from a breaker and install the used one and see if it makes any difference. So I told him go ahead and try that. That's as far as I got with repairs now. The car has been at the garage since Monday. It'll take time, but I will get back with updates when the next noteworthy information comes out.

He did check both heads? as unlike the 1.9cdti you've got 2 of those intake swirl flaps to worry about.

Big big update! Engine light is gone. Swirl flap is fixed! No more check engine light!! As you you can tell I am pretty happy about it. The mechanic was able to replace one of the intakes with an intake taken from a breaker.

I only have one more big project to go, and that's to fix the CIM.

Other than that, I have to now replace my whole windscreen because a 3 cm stone had flown into the windshield on the highway and cracked the damned glass and now I have a 25cm V-shaped crack on the passenger side.

I replaced it with a NordGlass windshield. The new windshield is super nice because the difference is like night and day. The old windshield was completely full of micro-scratches.
