Default Water in spare wheel well

Once a month or so i have to dry out the spare wheel well as it's swimming in water. Anyone else had the same problem and found a cure???

    Any help appreciated!

Check the rubber seal around the rear lights - that can be a culprit. If you've had the lights off for any reason lately then that could be a prime candidate.

Quarter glass is another good one and seal around Ariel has also been a culprit, water runs down the wire and into boot.

it can also leak in via a poorley sealed on rear lip spolier, they may not have used enough sealant in the factory..

we had a fishpond in the back of the CDTi, and one 'hosepipe' test later with an apprentice sat in the boot had him shouting and pointing into the de-trimmed hatch, it was flooding in the mounting holes..removed and resealed with silkaflex

When I got my SRi the spare wheel well was pretty wet too & IIRC in the last posting the finger was pointed at the aerial seal

Checked my rear light cluster and there was no seal on the left hand side! Dealer quoted £76 for new one, comes attatched to a new lamp unit!Cut a piece of rubber to size, silicon sealant round edges, job done!
