Hot start/stalling problem
Car (ZX18E) went through a week or so of starting when cold but, once warmed up, would not start again. Now, post fuel filter and crankshaft sensor change, the car either won’t start, or will start but then stall after about fifteen minutes (95% of the time it just won’t start).
No EML, no codes (but the lightbulb symbol is flashing).
The annoying thing is that I thought the crankshaft sensor change had cured the problem as, immediately afterwards, it started straight away, ran for 40 minutes, and then restarted easily.
Any ideas?

Suggest you get Admin to put this in Vectra section as this is Insignia section and they don't use this engine.
What code reader are you using? Really need Opcom or Tech2.

Thanks, my bad—I’ll ask the admins to move it.
ELM127/bluetooth reader, but I’ve ordered a Opcom off of Ebay. What should I be looking at on that?

Not allowed to say too much on here about Opcom as it's cloned software but if any codes are present then they will show.
You can let us know the fault codes and check RPM as this is Crankshaft signal. @plasma can you move this to Vectra please.

if you got an andriod phone use scanmyopelcan (you can download it from the google playstore and scan it for free) it will work with the elm327bt dongle I got it myself for on the go but i paid for it as the free version doesn't allow you to remove the faultcodes. It's not as good as tech2/GDS or opcom for that matter but it tells you what is wrong with the Engine, CIM, ABS or Auto gearbox and it can log live data.. on the newer cars (insignia etc) it can access more modules... but no programming, adding keys etc can be done with it... it's pure diagnostics only.

This sort of problem, is often the Temperature sensor - usually mounted on the thermostat housing.

Finally got the Op-com reader working. Any suggestions where to go from here? (Beavor-bob—I assume that a normal coolant temperature reading after sitting for several hours would mean that isn’t what is the problem is?)
PS Thanks for your comment, northpole.

Do a scan for any fault codes also look at live data for rpm signal when turning engine over.
