Hello from Denmark
Hi All,
Henrik here, 45 yrs old, and all-time Opel owner
Just to bore you all a little, here's my track record:
1983 Corsa A 1.0S 45 hp (Vauxhall Nova)
1988 Omega A 2.0i GLS 122 hp (Vauxhall Carlton)
1995 Vectra A 2.5i V6 CC 170 hp (Vauxhall Cavalier)
1976 Ascona B 2-dr 2.0E 110 hp (Vauxhall Cavalier)
2006 Meriva A Activan 1.7 CDTi 100 hp
2003 Astra G Caravan 2.2 DTi 125 hp, OPC (VXR) body kit
1993 Omega A Caravan 3.0 24V 200 hp (Carlton)
1995 Corsa B 3-dr 1.4 60 hp
2001 Corsa C 3-dr 1.7 DI 65 hp
1998 Astra G 5-dr 1.8 115 hp
2001 Astra G 3-dr 1.2 75 hp
2008 Corsa D 5-dr 1.4 90 hp
2002 Zafira A 1.8 125 hp
Astra G Caravan 1.7 CDTi 80 hp
Astra K Sports Tourer 1.5D 105 hp
Astra H Wagon 1.6 105 hp
Zafira B 1.8 140 hp, my wife's current car.
Astra G 5-dr 1.6 82 hp
And currently driving a 2008 Vectra GTS 2.0 Turbo, OPC (VXR) Line II. I remember seing cars like that when they were new, thinking "I'd really like one of those, one day", and all of the sudden, I got a new job only 1/3 distance from my home compared to my old job, and out went "sensible" and in went the Vectra. Loving every trip in it, having had it for 14 months now, and no unexcepected costs.
Now, this thread is worthless without pictures; here goes, freshly washed, with the summer rims in place. Need to get that nose closer to the ground, though ...

nope he said he kicked sensibility to the curb in choosing the 2.0T... just pointed out that he could have gone way worse by going for the v6

Welcome Henrik! That's a fine looking car you have there. Did you have the tow bar fitted?
My favourite car you have owned (apart from the Vectra of course!) is the Carlton GSi 3000 24v.

Thanks,
No, the tow bar was already fitted when I got it.
YES, the C30SE engine is downright legendary, missing my estate version, but rust got almost all of them eventually ...

Mweh you didn't kick sensibility to the curb... that is all I was saying... and don't worry the VXR owners here know exactly how taxing it is to own one getting shafted left right and centre by the taxman.
But ask them if they'll get rid... the answer is NO!

Not in any way urgent, but at some point if you get a chance, I'd be interested to see how the wiring looks in the boot and if it has the factory electrics set-up (I believe the tow bar was only a factory option on the estate in the UK but a dealer fit accessory for Hatch/Saloon). Mine is a bit messy with a bypass relay that I'm going to remove but keen to see pics of how the OEM wiring is connected.

That does not surprise me!

I looked inside the sides of the luggage compartment when replacing indicator bulbs to Silver Vision, it wasn't there ... I'll see if I can get myself together to lift the bottom covers and look down there
