Spanner light
Hi all, I've been looking through previous threads and can't seem to find an answer to my issue.
I bought an Insignia recently which was written off and I've found myself back in a 2009 Vectra 1.9cdti 150.
I've had it for a few weeks now running without issue but the other day the spanner light came on. The car has had no loss in power, still drives fine, ticks over normally, revs normally, no unwanted noises itc, BUT there are no fault codes stored.
Is there a way I can find out what's bringing the light on when there are no codes stored?
Thanks in advance.

If light is on, code is stored it depends on what you are using to read code.
VECTRA VXR‘s BOTH TEAPOT TUNED WITH A LITTLE OLD DOGGIE TWEAK.

I've used both code readers that I've used for years way back to my Signum, one's a handheld with a plug and the other is a Bluetooth number.
I've found my software that shall not be named so I'm going to try that today, and my nephew has a snap-on reader I can borrow on Sunday if that fails.

I'm guessing it'll be a faulty glowplug or more.
But best to get it hooked up to a code reader. Guessing was never a reliable method of diagnosis.

Scanned the car last night with my nephews Snap-On scanner and it did indeed throw up a glow plug error.
Cleared the code and turned the light off but it more or less came straight back on so new set of glow plugs required I think.

Keep him on tender as you’ll need him for sorting things out.

nah glowplugs once replaced and if the glowplug-module is fine will not come back... Been there replaced both on my car and spanner light went away... now if you don't remove the old fault code for it it'll stay there until removed so replace the lot but remember to wipe the faultcode at some point ( it'll be an historical one that'll linger until removed)
that said mine is a half canbus car yours might be different if it is a full canbus car.

Yeah I'll replace all 4, they're not that expensive

It's been a while because life's been a bit upside down for me lately but I finally got to this, I've replaced all 4 glow plugs and reset the light but it's coming back on after a couple of minutes of driving.
Is there anything I could've done wrong, or something I've not thought of?
I replaced them one at a time, all the connectors are on properly everythings secure and looks in good order.
Anybody got any ideas?
