Default Car Parks + Bollards = Why?

I don't know if it's just in my area, but a lot of car parks seem to have pointless bollards placed in awkward places in parking spaces.

A prime example is Greenbridge Retail Park in Swindon. In this car park there are bollards arranged in groups of four placed in the corner, where four parking spaces meet. Sometimes they are put there to protect a tree (i don't know why you'd plant a tree in a parking space, but round here they do!) but here there is no conceivable reason for them. And looking at them, there is quite a range of different paint on them!

Anyone else have car parks with pointless bollards near them?

It's all round the country m8 - I see pointless bollards all over the place. What makes me mad is that a lot of them are just the height that they can't be seen - even from a Signum with a lower window. One of the main reasons i got parking sensors.

Seen lots. Usually small enough that a) no guarantee the parking sensors will pick them up and b) low enough to ensure you can't see them out the back.

Designed and sponsored by the local body shop I suspect

The B&Q car park near me has put in a load of random bollards to stop the boy racers doing donuts and general dangerous driving.

Oh, and another thing about Swindon, do they really need so many roundabouts? I've never seen so many in my life! It seems like everywhere there should be a normal junction, the road planners thought it would be fun to put a roundabout!
