    Default 2.8 v6 Turbo cam/crank DTC's

My ex police 2.8 v6 Turbo has started showing a P0016 "Crank/Camshaft Mis-align/sync" DTC recently, driven fine for a couple of thousand miles.

Today when I accelerated hard, the MIL started flashing and the engine ran rough, she then started showing a P0306 "Cylinder 6 missfire" After stopping and starting the engine it is smooth again.

Is changing the camshaft position sensor the first port of call? or should I be looking at other things too?

If yes to changing the senser, can any of you tell me where it's located on the v6 turbo? I've found a vid that shows it on the standard V6 but that looks different to the turbo. Cheers.

That first picture isnt a camshaft sensor, and you mention the 'standard V6'. The standard V6 we are talking about always has a turbo on it no Vectra/Signum ever made didn't.

-judging by the title he wanted to know the position of both the crankshaft and the cam se6nsors on the z28net, so to make it clear:
    - first picture is crankshaft sensor
    - second picture is camshaft sensors... yes it has 2, bank 1 and bank 2 have their own sensors...
but since you know it misfires only on cylinder 6, you might get away with just replacing that one.

Cheers Northpole I had sussed that but thanks for clarifying.

Can any of you tell me if the ECU is going to need to be told to "relearn" the sensors when I change them or should it not notice?
