A car well looked after should be reliable even at that mileage.
Mine is same age & engine but "only" 166k km~100k miles...3 weeks ago I was on a 2,000km trip with no problems and I still trust it...did that kind of trip, along time, with far older cars(`95 Astra F) and far more mileage (350k km)(but well looked after) and also no problems.

Mate I have owned cars that went did way more than your 270K miles and sold them at a profit... it's all about maintenance, the better it is done, the more reliable they are.
and yes you are sane, the car doesn't owe you nothing and if you keep ontop of the maintenance it'll just keep going and going in the end your yearly motoring cost will drop to just fuel/tax/maintenance in most cases it will be cheaper than buying a younger car and massively cheaper than leasing or buying a new one.

You know I look after the mechanicals ;-)

Vectra VXR estate 2007 Sapphire Black
Teapot Tuned 255/300
Eibachs B8's, fully loaded factory options
Tech2 & MDI diagnostics + SPS
In that case don't worry about it... it should be just fine.
Plenty of new stuff would throw a hissy fit at the thought of going that far without a computer from the dealer telling it that’s it’s ok.
Well, now sipping a beer in Aberdeen. Just over 9 hours, 530 miles. No probs and 44 mpg
