Question vectra c 2007 stereo install headaches

i tried to install my new kenwood dab double din today

i remembered with facelifts that you have to run a wire from stereo wiring to fag lighter live to power unit up.

it will power up but when i turn car off and then on again it goes back to standby. i have done the usual trick of swapping the red and yellow wires round but that doesnt work and i followed the instructions for the steering controls adapter and that doesnt work either.

had enough for today but any ideas would be greatfully received

Not sure isn’t it a straight swap with the electrical plug without any other wiring. The halfcan needs wiring swapped I believe.

my 54 plate signum was halfcan and had the standard iso wiring connector so fitting was straight forward but the facelifts have the fakra connector and the aftermarket adadpters dont have a 12v feed so you have to pick one up usually the fag lighter wiring. as said i can power the unit up but it keeps going back to standby even with the yellow and red wires swapped round.

might be a wire i have missed that allows this but i am stumped

I still have an original head unit, but the Bury handsfree set is fed by an Ignibox. It somehow creates a live, and shuts down a little while after you switch off the car.

I bougt in on eBay.uk, but apparently it's made in Denmark :-)

    Code:
The IGNI-BOXmakes the need for an ignition wire, when installing aftermarket car accessories,
    redundant.
Many new cars do not have an easy accessible switched ignition wire due to the use of Bus based
vehicle control networks such as CAN-bus. This has spawned the need for a fast and versatile Igni-
    tion wire substitute.
For this reason we have invented the IGNI-BOX. This small microprocessor controlled unit makes an
artificial switched Ignition based on the voltage and noise levels on the constant 12v wire. To make
the needed calculations the IGNI-BOX makes up to 4000 measurements pr. second.
The IGNI-BOX will switch on the ignition signal when it senses that the engine is running. That way
being very similar to the normal ignition functionality in older cars.
A normal IGNI-BOX item number consists of two items. The 1st item is the IGNI-BOX and the 2nd
item is the IGNI-BOX adaptor. The IGNI-BOX adaptor makes the installation plug and play when in-
stalling a Kram Telecom cable set. Some IGNI-BOX adaptors even exists for OEM Carkit cable sets.
But all the IGNI-BOX really needs in order to generate an artificial ignition signal is a connection to
the constant 12v and the ground wire. The installation is that simple.
