    Default Vibration/Steering Wobble

Since getting my 3.0 CDTi Signum a few months ago, I have trouble with a slight(annoying!) vibration doing about 70mph. I've had the wheels balanced twice and it makes a slight difference but its still there. I've also swapped the front and back wheels and had them re-balanced, but its still there.
Could there be something else wrong or do I need a complete new set of tyres?
    Thanks,
    Decho

Yeah, check your tie bars and make sure the tracking is spot on.

If there is, the ball joint is part of the tie rod assembly which costs about £22. Vx will charge you £400 to change said because they want to drop the sub frame?!? Took me 45 minutes to jack the car, remove the wheel, change the tie rod, put the wheel back, drop the car down, re-align the wheels (including three test drives) and put all the tools away. So you might want to do it yourself if that's what it is.

Sorry, I'm not very technically minded when it comes to this. The car is only 18 months old and done 15k miles - I'm not the first owner however. If this is the fault, would this be covered by warranty?

Should be. The job requires one adjustable spanner (the 35mm one from Halfords does nicely) and the tools in the boot to remove the wheel.

Don't know if that's what it is yet though, have you been in to Vx with it?

Yep, been to my local Masterfit and reported it when it had its first service. They had a go at balancing - slightly better but still there. I've read on other posts that they need to be very precise then balancing them on the Vectra/Signum.
Excuse my ignorance but how do I test for play in the ball joints.
I may take the car to my local independent garage for a look - they are excellent and always do a good job.
I'm reluctant to buy new tyres if this is not going to improve things.
