On my ex astra h 1.9 cdti 16v i had the same issue. When i was turning the a/c the power would be drastically reduced. After a year the a/c compressor clutch failed and i didn't bother to fix the a/c anymore after that. The new owner replaced the clutch and i asked if the a/c feels like you're were pulling a big trailer especially on a busy city traffic, he told me that he could barely feel the a/c compressor being turned on.
I'm lost. Doesn't AC clutch just basically turns on AC? I'd think it would make sense if AC pulley was failing, is that what we're basically talking about? What about your fuel consumption? did it stay the same when car was barely pulling? (When I say same, I mean normal for z19dth with AC on).
I don’t know, the pulley was alright, the clutch failed, the fuel consumption was higher when it was on but not by much because the engine is aleeady very eco on fuel
