    Default Mondeos!!

i know i shouldnt be asking this in here but has anybody driven/owned a mondeo recently. A guy i work with owns a titanium x one and i think it looks really classy even executive! and i really like it. seems to have just about every gadget in it!

Drive them quite regularly at work.

Rattly horrible engine, wobbles about and crashes and bangs over bumps and lumps in the road. Also, compared to the Vectra, it's cramped inside and the quality is poor.

Model is 04 Ghia 2.0 TDCi.

I like driving it. It reminds me how much better mine is.

ah silly me the 55k i did in mine in a year was all a dream and the car was a nail , when it did go back with that milage it had no squeaks rattles and felt as fresh as a daisy to drive , 27k in the vec and it feels old , and worn ,

what you have to remember vauxhall drivers hate fords and ford drivers hate vauxhall , its all incredibly childish imo , but the ford is the far better drivers car , the vectra is better built and nicer looking .

Dennis, a little point here that needs to be made,

All my previous cars were Fords, when I went to replace my last Mondeo, I looked at the current one, Didn't like it. I drive them at work, I still don't like it.

Scott, Back to what you say, the Elite is the one with all the toys, Leather etc, whereas the SRi is more the Sports model. Early SRi's were pretty well specced, but I think about late 04 onwards, the toys were trimmed back.

I am merely saying as I find.

    Vehicle : Vectra

Drove a 07plate Titanium X - had all the toys in it but drive wise i found to be boring.. Suspension was too soft and wallowed around corners. it was quite nippy and didnt seem to have the press and wait feature below 2000rpm, was nice and smooth... all in all i'd have one as a work car but not for enjoyment of driving

    +1
Mondeo has harder suspension setup, less comfort, but better steering and cornering.
For my money the Mondeo has very ugly front end, and I also dont like the harsh suspension.
Alos where I come from Fords are not appreciated at all, and are losing value like the Wallstreet crash.

I tried the st tdci and found it a slow, noisy and unexciting drive. My Vectra had standard suspension and it is shot but I was still disapointed with the Mondeos handling. The interia was so tacky and felt uninviting. The Mondeos don't come with lots of toys unless you pay for them, the price of a Vectra with the same spec as a Titanium X would be massivly lower.

I may be a bit bias but I've tried Ford, Honda, Skoda, Merc and lb for lb I couldn't get more for my money with any other car. Even other cars by Vx don't give as much for the money, take the Signum for example (no offence intended), you do get some extra stuff over the same model Vectra but the cost is way more.

I just feel good where I am.
