Hello,

Inherited a free 2007 Vectra 1.8VVT life off a friend. Requires a little TLC but engine runs well having only covered 76k miles and only 10k over the last 10 years.

First initial wash to get most of the dirt off the outside. Still need a few more cleans and to take the seats out inside to get it looking showroom fresh again as there is a bit of dirt to tidy.

Windows and mirrors also weren’t working so took the switch apart and cleaned it up.

My to do list,

Pick up a set of alloys,
Service car
Put in aftermarket radio with a dab and reverse camera one in the future
Change front bumper, wing and possibly rear bumper
Quote for fixing scratches in the doors as it looks like it has been keyed.
Fix interior lighting
Fix boot leak
Replace mirrors due to damage
Polish headlights

Possibility,

Gas aircon
Change to leather seats

Condensation in roof liner, I believe it’s coming in the the common spot, aerial base so will need to change it and see how it goes.

Hopefully the reason why my interior lights don’t work.

Burnt out and corrosion on the terminals.

Ordered a replacement one with the reading lights and sun glasses holder.



Also performed a diagnostic on my car regarding the EML. Appears I have a faulty temperature sensor, therefore that’ll also need attention.

Not bad at all your ride...good luck on your future plans!
I have a similar one, same year, same engine, but estate body.
Taking in consideration the age and lack of maintainance you should change asap timing belt and related tensioners, at least. For your peace.

welcome you lucky sod! I wished someone would give me one for free! OK no-one ever will as they just don't even consider me as a person that will take their old car... that said enjoy fixing it... i already saw you'll want to replace that NS wing and the front bumper... you'll find them quick enough. But enjoy fixing it, nothing wrong with a veccy 1.8vvt...

Thanks, few maintenance items to do but nothing too serious. Once it’s sorted it should be decent.

Had to get rid of my previous car due to finance and having a baby soon so didn’t have anything.

Think I need to change the rear shocks aswell. Had a advisory on last mot, plus car feels abit bouncy on bumps.
