    Default Heater & Fan Issues

My '06' Vec C estate is starting to show her age it seems. Hoping for a bit of advice/help please as not the greatest with cars. My heater fan won't work on either auto or the other speeds. I can't even adjust the heating directions as get no movement from the blades. Can anyone help at all please?

First thing to check is to see whether the fan motor still rotates or not.

Open bonnet, remove pollen filter from under scuttle cover. Reach in and see if it will turn easily by hand.

hold on what do you have in the car aircon or climatronic... if you have aircon t probably is as simple as the resistor pack needing replacing, or the blower motor is dead... in both cases it'll call for parts... if you have the climatronic i suggest you have the car readout... as the canbus will have logged an DTC (error) so you can find out what is causing the problem... and if you got the code.. post it up here and we can help you towards a solution

Sounds possible expensive. Will come back on Tuesday when I've had a better look. I have climatronic in mine I think, I can't remember the difference between the two. To get a reading I'm guessing I need to get it plugged into some fault diagnosis thing-a-me-bob.

Yes you'll need to have some diagnostics done...

No you'll need a vauxhall specific one, the car has multiple modules that talk to one another but since vauxhall uses switching to access the different modules only specific obd2 readers can access them all.. or if you know someone that has tech2 or a universal professional obd2 reader maybe that is able to read all the modules.

Failing that I'd suggest you look into vauxhall and obd2 software as we aren't allowed to discuss one that does the lot on the forum. It sounds like (sl)opcom
Just leave the stuff in between the brackets off.
