Rear brakes and handbrake

Hi, wondering if anyone can help? We have changed the pads, discs and handbrake cables on a vectra C.

when you apply the handbrake there is a lot of travel, when you reset the adjuster it tightens to 3 clicks which is perfect however once you press the foot brake for some reason it releases the tension?

any ideas

Have you bleed the brakes? The handbrake issue sounds like rear caliper springs to me . Are your rear calipers originals? Check they are not sticking too. I had issue like that I just replaced both calipers with new springs aswell.

When changing pads the pedal must be pumped numerous times so piston can take up the slack BEFORE you touch handbrake.
