If you would've said you had sponge brakes too you would've gotten told to check the vacuum line to the servo too... would've saved you a long winded search.... but I do remember you got told check the vacuum lines also as at first we thought it was the pcv valve...

My brakes weren't spongy at all they stop easily just firm. I did check and clean the valve. It was the hardline from the brake servo.

To be fair, they are a ******* to spot splits like that. Its not like you can squeeze them and they open up. I bet the engine was sucking in so much air it still created a vacuum around that area so still giving the servo some draw.

I know they are hardliners and a serious pita to check.. at least you found it. Just a shame you have dented the new radiator... as long as it doesn't leak.... well erm suck it up and put the car through the MOT.

I was spraying electronic contact cleaner and found it.

If its on pipe before non return valve then it wouldn't affect the brakes.
