Well a repair will be costly if you have it done... so your only option is to take the engine apart and diy... so you'll have to see what is causing the problem... most likely piston rings have failed or on the 3rd cylinder valves seals are not seated right(or something else). but you will only know if you take it apart and take it from there.
I still think the easiest thing to do is to swap a good running engine in and possibly the cheapest solution..
You will need to buy at least a new headgasket kit if you decide to take the engine apart, a new timingbelt kit is advisable. And that is without the failed part replacement you will need.
Also there are.no miracle cures for bottom end or top end failures.
Yh thanks I'll have to think what to do thanks agsin
Haven’t really looked at this one looks like it’s dead then. When all you needed to do was drive about for a-bit to clear it.
Personally I’d test compression with the right tool that fixes in, I’m sure there’s one where you go in the glow plug holes and turn it over. 2 tests as far as I know but it was years ago and diesel related
Vectra VXR estate 2007 Sapphire Black
Teapot Tuned 255/300
Eibachs B8's, fully loaded factory options
Tech2 & MDI diagnostics + SPS
Yh I can't get glow plugs out to test properly as two are stuck although they are turning and one is turning but where socket goes it has rounded corners off hex
