Indicator/brake light woes
Been having an on going issue with my os rear indicator/brake lights throwing up a malfunction light on the dash..every time I check, take them out to find the bulbs are fine as is the connection between bulb and bulb holder (no corrosion), put it all back together and it works fine for a few days or weeks...now however they have stopped working all together and no amount of taking apart seems to make a difference...even cleaning the electrical connection inside the car only worked temporarily...so now I'm stumped because the bulbs are fine, all connections seem fine but I have no indicator or brake light !!!
Any thoughts anyone?

Earthing problem is my bet. Find the earth to the cluster, splice in a new wire and find a good earth. If that solves it, make it permanent.

Im having the exact same issue and after looking at the wiring diagram in my haynes manual all the bulbs seem to share the same earthing location which is in the boot. My aerial base leaks so its always wet where the earth strap is

The connectors to the light clusters can go high resistance and start arcing then burning away the actual contacts. 9/10 it's the earth connector as it carries the most load.
Happened to mine, so cleaned up the metal on the cluster and soldered direct to them, bypassing the knackered connector.
