    Post Greetings from New Zealand

    Gidday from Down Under
New Member & New Owner of a 2006 Vauxhall Vectra 1.9CDTI.
Couple of weeks ago brought our Vectra because i like Holdens/ Vauxhalls etc. Specifically brought the 1.9CDTi because my wife travels reasonably high milage each week travelling back at forth daily from Waikanae to Wellington for our Boys swimming training. Love the look shape style and economy of the Vectra - drives really nice to.
Have joined site because i have just had a problem with our new baby - and the problem is there probably isnt any Vauxhall Vectra 1.9CDTi's in NZ as it was a emigrates personal car import from the UK. The other problem will be parts down under here in NZ.
Enjoying the site - loads of info shares ideas experiences and assistance - interested in any tips and tricks
    Regards
    Tony way down under

My Baby goes up on the axle stands tomorrow morning - cambelt cover coming off for a quick peak - have my fingers crossed its somethin else causing me pain.

I have read it posts that remapping via @Teapot etc can be done remotely - Is this true
Could someone get one of the Remap Wizards to contact me with what i need to do and what i need and costs etc.

All new to Vectras for me - Love it though, even though i've only had it for about 2.5 weeks
First week power steering played up - plug connection got it sorted
Then the latest a week ago - just lost power for unknown reason - now won't start
Tried to but lumpy - gave up - just got it towed home couple of days ago.
So under the bonnet i go tomorrow.

Done lots of reading on the 1.9 CDTi
Appears lots of issues around ERG and Swirl Flaps and possibly DPF.
Problem with my Swirl Flap linkage bar came off - but thought car should still run - so thinkin Cambelt

But once going again want to look at deleting ERG and Swirl Flaps in 1st Instance
Hence wanting to catch up with Teapot or some other tech someone can recommend

    Cheers

For remote you’ll need something like kess https://www.obdiitool.co.uk/wholesal...SABEgJiBfD_BwE to read/write file ecu, don’t think TP been on here for a while and he goes through this place now, https://www.tpremapping.co.uk/produc...apot-power-map
VECTRA VXR‘s BOTH TEAPOT TUNED WITH A LITTLE OLD DOGGIE TWEAK.
    TECH2WIN AND GDS2 2021 DIAGNOSTICS.

Long story short - Ya Cambelt intact - so thats a blessing - But would love to know why it won't go though.
Considering i have only owned for about 3 weeks now very frustrating - Broke down with P/Steer problem 1st - found plug elec fault.
Then week later breaks down again - took a week to tow home from about 1km down the road due to constant rain when i could have towed
Thought it was cambelt - hoping not though - and it isnt - Phew !!!
Turns over and tries to start but lumpy as if it was a petrol version with the timing out.
All the fault lights up on dash - but 2 pedal fault test dosent show anything.
Need to get diagnosed but don't have gear - so at a loss at mo

it's a diesel just a few things that won't allow it to start:
    -no fuel
    -no compression
    -worn starter motor
    -weak battery
    -a stuck egr valve,
    -blocked DPF and or CAT
    -bad glow plugs
    -intermittent or broken crank sensor
    -intermittent or broken camshaft sensor
    -dirty or intermittent MAP
    -dirty or intermittent MAF

a few of them means replacing said parts, some of them can be sorted out with a clean-up in most cases, but whatever you do either do the pedal dance... or have the DTC's read with some proper gear.... but afaik even a simple elm27bt and an this andriod app would be able to read the codes (if you pay for the app you can wipe them too)

forgot to mention that MPPS v18 or higher will do just fine for the remote remap option (it's also a lot easier and cheaper than KESS)

Thanks for the assistance - Have ordered a %#com device from Aliexpress - which has been dispatched and on its way.
At least when that gets here i will be able to do the diagnostics stuff and see what faults i have which hopefully will point to why my baby aint going.
