Squeak from belt side at low RPM

Ive got the really annoying chirping/ squeaking sound coming from the belt side of the engine but only does it when im accelerating in low revs and the engine labours. It does between gear changes until the revs get high enough that it stops

I changed the belt tensioner today for a new GM one which has got rid of 85% of the noise but it hasnt cured it fully. Im able to pull away now without any noise but im still getting some noise if the revs are too low

Does anybody else know what it might be?

Did you not change the belt? It is the most likely cause of that noise... I recently replaced mine because I had the same going on (although my engine is a 2.0 dti) and when I took the old belt of and compared it to the new one it had stretched a whole cm. So I could literally put the old one around the new one.

Swapped it over noise is gone.

Thats probably it

As i was fitting the new tensioner i was thinking maybe i should of stuck a new belt on while im at it :-(
