    Default Rear subframe swap

    Hi all,
I mot'd my vectra c and it failed on the rear subframe being weak as the dredded tin worm had been having a good time in the subframe.
Anyway I've managed to find a good 1 and was wondering if there's anything to look out for or to have handy when I change it over the weekend?
    Any advice/info would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance

I havent done it myself but i would probably get spares of all the bolts as if you havent soaked them over a period of time with penetrating fluid one or more could snap.

There's always enough of that lol
Was thinking about rust treating as much as possible and painting it before fitting. Is it worth rebushing it while I'm there?

Unless they have been changed recently but we don’t know the age. No point in changing 6 month old bushes is there really? Also depends on the make since my recent little job was driven over 2.5 year old bushes failing.

People who tend to ask if they should do the bushes, haven't done the bushes ever.

I've done bushes before and was thinking about doing them anyway just to be safe, are there any that are a pain or are they all normally straight forward to change?

Mind the ABS loom / don't let the subframe drop unless you have disconnected it ( if you are fitting one with the new subframe you'll have to do that anyway )

Make sure the adjustable bolts are free so tracking can be set post swap

Honestly if I was to put on a new cross member I would buy the lot new... I know everything together is more expensive... but all new bushes and arms make the job a lot easier (and yes get new bolts if you can) that said if it ain't broke and looks fine re-use most of it. I hate wasting money.
