    Default Airbag light permanently on

    Hi people, hopping someone can help as i obviously can't get an MOT until this issue is sorted, and this is the last job.(test wise anyway). I removed the front seats/console ect to replace a torn front carpet. Then stupidly, before testing everything was ok proceeded to replace the worn steering wheel. BOOM que airbag light!! All was done with batt disconnected and with care and everything is original to the car except the carpet and steering wheel/scrolls/buttons.
    I've plugged my diagnostic(op-com) in and reads as follows;
    B0012-OE Driver airbag squib circuit(stage 1)low resistance
    B0013-OD Driver airbag squib circuit(stage 2)high resistance
    B0019-OE passenger airbag squib circuit(stage 1) low resistance
    B0020-OD passenger airbag squib circuit(stage2)high resistance
    B0020-OE passenger airbag squib circuit(stage2)low resistance
    I can get the last entry to clear but occasionally comes back but will clear with another scan.
    Low resistance measuring blocks are 0.1 ohm
    High resistance measuring blocks are 8.2 ohm
    I've taken it all apart inspected and refitted(several times) but still the same. I've even taken the caps off the top of the airbag connectors to try and push the terminals to make sure the airbag is connected properly, still the same.
    I'm beginning to think the squib has decided to take a big steaming dump on me for some reason(or am i missing something). I've ordered a 2nd hand cim, going to try changing the squib, but failing that i'm stumped I've tried(many hours) google searching but just find posts about high resistance, not high and low as listed above. Does anyone know of something else i should be looking at? Any help will be greatly appreciated as i can't afford the £80 callout fee for my local tech2!

    Thanks for the reply. Not sure what it means but I'm guessing it's a payment for response type site? Whatever it is the link doesn't work bud.

    It's a pdf that describes the problem amd has the solution in it... it actually downloads the file so look in your downloads.

    I would just like to thank the above posters! @northpole for probably stating the obvious, i eventually got the pdf downloaded as i'm a total tech numpty! @Jon1796 for the very informative/detailed pdf. To be honest it was well over my head but with my limited knowledge and understanding of electrics and MANY hours all is now fixed!THE LIGHT IS NOW OUT

    Unfortunately i'm not 100% sure! I tried to work through the pdf in parts using my limited knowledge. Found that the purple airbag wire had a fluctuating voltage but the yellow wire had nothing. Tested the same on my daily and found the yellow wire had the same fluctuating voltage, so changed the front part of a 2nd hand cim with the original and got fluctuating voltage on the yellow wire but was still too low voltage. so stripped the console out again removed the airbag ecu, tried to again blow out/clean the terminals and the earth. After this the light went out, ran my scan tool, no dtc's
    I'm going to put the original cim front back on to try and decide if that was actually at fault or not. I think it may have been a few issues rolled into one! sorry to be so vague but as i said electrics is well over my head! If the original cim front works i'll post back as such.
