AA complaints
Anyone ever complained to the AA?
I only had family roadside which cost £50 for the year believing flat tyres and batteries could easily be fixed at home. When a front coil collapsed in my garage, I was stuck. To upgrade to add home cover was an extra £154. I feel ripped off. Wish I’d lied, upgraded, not in a breakdown and called them out 24 hours later. Any chance a complaint might get something back?

if you didn't take the more extensive covering in the first place why do you feel robbed? you thought you didn't need it so if you really wanted it sorted out, it would've been cheaper to call a mobile mechanic than the AA... but you decided to call the AA so yeah they'll charge you full price for that. It is how it is... on the other-hand next time your stuck you'll be covered and they'll come out asap...

cancelled mine few months ago as price kept going up and up, but it has crossed my mind if something happens on the road i cant fix myself.... so need to get some type of cover put back in place. Was paying about £150 for a fully loaded policy...
Think i need a get me home or to destination cover so will look at getting that.

if you don't like the AA prices there is also green flag... I have that as it came with my insurance at a seriously low price...

I totally agree they had every right to charge extra. I thought quadrupling the price was excessive. I'll try and raise a complaint, with low expectations. Like my old Dad used to say "If you don't ask, you don't get."
To be fair the mechanic who came out was there in 10 minutes and towed the car to a local garage. The coil had failed catastrophically taking out the drop link too. Luckily the alloy and tyre survived.
Next challenge is with the garage because they fitted the wrong coils, it wasn't a good day.
