Default Opel Vectra C 2003 AC Module (buttons) problem

    Good afternoon everyone.
I bought my vehicle about 3 years ago as i was looking for a family car and the price was very good. (Opel Vectra C 2003 1600cc Elegance).
Since day 1 i bought it i couldnt figure out how to change where the air flows when the ac is on. I looked online and figured out that i need to press to central button to enter the ac menu. I am pressing it but nothing appears on the screen. I need to replace the module, or is there any other trick to make it work?
btw, my ac module is the 2 zone ac.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

the first thing to do is have the car readout as this problem will leave an error in the module... to save you a headache find a place that has the right tool to read out the module (tech2/GDS or O./V.com)

quite common for the centre buttons to fail, they tend to work best once warm with a good press.... you can replace it with another, but will need the 'variant configuration' setting up...

as a fix IF it is the control module you can take them apart and reflow the solder on the 6 pins (i think it is) on the rotary dial

but as northpole says, get a code reader on it first to see if you have an errors
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

So if i understand correctly, there is a tool that can read if there are any errors with the module. I suppose its different than the obd2 port. Whats the name of the operation or the tool needed so i can find one in my area?

So if i replace the whole module, i need to configure it somehow so it can be red by the car?

well no the tools i named work via the OBD2 port the problem is GM/Opel/Vauxhall (and all their daughter brands) need to be connected with a certain multiplex cable... tech2/GDS is what the dealer uses in most cases... O./V. com is another way of having almost the same functionality to readout all the modules and fault codes on these cars... but they all work via the OBD2 port....

yes if you get a replacement, it needs to be de-coded (un-married) from the car it came from, or replace it with a new un-coded one, than it has to be coded to your car... (you will need the passcode to the car so if you don't have that you can obtain it from your dealer)

So if you can solder, try to fix yours as that is and will be the easier and cheaper solution...

    Thanks a lot!

one last question. This rotary dial that has the problem, is also responsible for manually adjusting the fan speed. Turning it right and left works. The only issue is when i am pressing it for the menu to appear. Does that makes any sence? And is it consistent with what you guys know?

the panel is one of only a few modules that doesn’t need a pin as it doesn’t have vin in only needs can/config for the car it’s going in. If it was Astra zaffy you can rewrite/program for it to fit each vehicle.
VECTRA VXR‘s BOTH TEAPOT TUNED WITH A LITTLE OLD DOGGIE TWEAK.
    TECH2WIN AND GDS2 2021 DIAGNOSTICS.
    PIN RETRIEVAL FROM SOME MODULES.

as per jon on this one.. doesnt need a code, but does need to be included on the midspeed canbus if changing any of the radio/display/bluetooth units

I'm not that clued up on the module (as i have manual airco) but with his car being a half-canbus it might be stubborn accepting changes or rejecting stuff for no reason at all... as I found out with my car when I tried to activate the electric rear windows... it didn't accept the drivers multi-function switch at all had to get another one with a different code on it and it worked... for me that was a first ever as i've never experienced that on any car.
