Vectra C (04 Reg) Rear Fog Lights
Hi all
Can anyone answer the question on my Rear Fog Lights. On my Vectra C ( 04 Reg ) i only have a Rear Fog Light working on the R/H side, not on the L/H side. Is this correct ? , as i do have a bulb in the L/H side bulb holder but it does not come on with the R/H side and i have no message on central display saying its not working.
Can anyone advise ?
Many Thanks

It is working correctly if you want it on both sides you'll have to modify the cables... loads of how2's on youtube and one on here in the how2 section aswell.

Only one provided from factory, so it is correct
They filled the gap in the bulb holder on the left side just to fill a gap, but the wiring isn't there
Not difficult to add the wire in and run it to the working one, there is a how2 on here for it
Hope that helps

Apparently it was an EU directive that decided to restrict rear fogs to driver side only as both-side rear fogs, when lit, could be mistaken for brake lights - WTF!!
Hence some newer cars now have a rear reversing light on the offside and rear fog on the driver's side.

And the fog light should *technically* be 110mm from the brake light, but I have read through the MOT hand book and rules and cannot see it

that is because the car manufacturers decided to integrate them in the rear light clusters... if the car passed type approval than the rule doesn't apply so it has been stricken from the rule books...

Pretty sure it's mentioned in the handbook that there is only one working rear foglight.
Also mentioned is that the bulb in the non working one is a spare bulb that can be used for everything bar the indicator lights in the rear light clusters.

Also been mentioned many times in the forum since I’ve been a member including the mod which I’ve done to both of my cars the latest i did 4 years ago and detailed in my diary. That’s why you do them so people read and learn from them
