Hi,
I was driving my beloved 2.0 Vectra C estate home from work when the power steering went, thought the pump had gone and drove it home. Next day I went to start it and now it won't start, IV checked all the fuses ect all ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like alternator.
Had s new alternator last year, IV even fully charged the battery and it turns over fires up then instantly cuts out?
I would get codes read, we could all keep guessing till cows came home lol

Can be 2 things immobiliser kicking in or a really dirty egr valve but my money is on the first one... that all said, I would deffo do a scan of the fault codes... don't forget to do the CIM as that will be where the immobiliser fault code will be stored.
Thanks, ECU is not showing any fault codes, when you say do the CIM is there a way to scan that? Thought you could only read fault codes from the OBD?
You can read each module separate that is if you have the right scanner either tech2 or the not talked about opcom/vauxcom....
You can than read all the modules and any fault codes they might have stored...
If you don't have that bit you have access to an elm327bt obd2 dongle and an andriod bt device download scanmyopelcan from the Google play store... it is capable of reading the following modules
Engine/Cim/abs/autogearbox on the vectra platform...
It won't erase the faultcodes but it will show you what is going on and give you the right code so you can find a solution quick enough.
Hi sorry for the late reply, managed to get an OP-COM reader and getting the following errors

Is the cim toast? also if i fully charge the battery the car will drain it overnight. Seems it has a parasitic drain.
The only thing there is ipc not programmed in, the rest are past events clear them. With the o.c. Still on start car see what you get.
But uec could be playing up take it out and check fuses and connections underneath.
Open the battery cover and at the top left as you look is a big ass fuse going between two bolts, check that is still intact, check all the wiring from the battery to the power steering pump behind the drivers side front corner of the bumper and also check the wiring between the pump and the angle sensor on the rack, these have all been known to throw issues and I had the exact same problem on my old one. The chances of the pump being faulty are very slim, same with battery and alternator.
I suspected CIM fault on mine too and it wasn't, was a wiring issue
