Took the Siemens (24465785 if that's correct) HFPF out and put the continental in (I still haven't heard from F5R} took it for a spin around the village, pulling away from junctions in 3rd gear and its happy, no struggles nothing. I'll strip this siemens one down and refurb it, stick it on the shelf just in case there is a next time, unless the siemens one is actually crap in which case I might as well bin it. So, those that know about HPFPs, is it worth pulling the siemens one apart and refurbishing it, or is it a pile of junk?

I would pull it apart just to see what actually went wrong with it, purely educational at first... but if it is something you can fix on the cheap... well fix it and keep it as a spare.
there is no hurry to do it as your car is now running as it should. you got at least another 30K miles before it might happen again...
