Default hot wheel (not the toy) and squeeky.

    Long time no post..
Veccy running great but about a year ago I noticed my offside front wheel was getting super hot to touch after about 20 miles.
So far I have replaced discs and pads. Rebuilt the caliper with new seals etc.

Still getting a warm wheel and squeeking after about 20mins.
No where near as hot as before, but still warm to the touch.

Thinking the original binding brakes may have knackered the bearing in ? With all the hot/cold ??

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Ps. Copper grease used on new brakes etc and also silicon grease on the slider pins.

Did you replace the piston seals on the inside sometimes that is the cause of it... a sticky caliper meaning the disk will be getting hot from friction... if the disk looks fine and the wheel isn't covered in brake dust than it might be the bearing but that would make a grinding noise all the way until you stop... so.my money is on the caliper...

I would just buy 2 new or refurbished calipers and replace them but that is me. Just to rule it out.

Did you clean up the slider pins like i did with mine?
Not sure if @MCD updated his diary when he had a similar issue but he cured it with new brake hoses after lots of time consuming work trying to eliminate it.

New discs and pads. Refurb caliper including pins, pin holders, piston inner and dust cover rubbers.
Piston greased on refurb, pins loaded with silicon grease also.
Copper grease in the usual places.

than either you need to replace the brake fluid or the brake hoses ... i'd start with the brake fluid unless the brake hoses clearly have seen better days.
