while sorting out the washer problem I removed the near side headlamp. the light plugs into the red socket but there is another connector on the loom that is taped up, I think I saw one on the off side as well. any idea what they are for?

No idea without removing the tape as you cant see it.
Oh just realised you've got an Insignia, thought it was Vectra as the post is in the Vectra section so wouldn't have a clue anyway then.

ahh,ok thanks. wont be worrying about that then. need to get washers done then I can sell the car.
Errh, no not so fast never seen 2 wiring plugs for lights on one vehicle...and def not facelift.
its an ex police (West Yorks then SOCA) 3.2 V6 2003 GSi. Vectra C. the plug, cant see the other side one, was wrapped with black gaffer tape and insulation tape, so dont know if it was special order or standard.
