    Vehicle : Vectra cdti 120

    Trim : Sri

    Engine : 120

    Year : 2007

    confused A couple of issues

I replaced the fuel filter on our cdti 150 a few months ago. Since then there has been a dribble of fuel - I assumed it was from the seal, however it looks to be coming from the quick release connector on top of the filter housing. Any ideas why this would leak?

On another note, the car has developed a whine from the timing belt end of the engine - no whine at idle, whine increases as revs go up. There is plenty of fluid in the power steering reservoir and the noise does'nt get worse when the wheels are turned. I have put all the electrical items on to see if the alternator is making the noise - it has no effect.

Car has auto transmission. I am thinking aux belt tensioner and something from the induction side of the engine?

the fuel leak could be because the quick push connectors seal has gone (only able to get that from vauxhall parts specialists or the dealers parts counter)
The noise you are getting is probably from the aux. belt or it's tensioner... solution replace belt and tensioner... but the noise could be coming from a roller/guide so i would take slacken the tensioner and check everything the belt touches and replace accordingly...

Where is the seal? I can only see a white plastic collar which is a loose fit at the back of the connector.

It should be on the inside where it pushes onto the pipe from the housing...my dti recently got them replaced I took mine off and found a replacement at a Hydraulics specialist called Pirtek
