Airbag & Tech2?

Hi all, I’m due to replace a couple airbags in car after deployment, before I purchased, whole other van of worms!!

The NS seat airbag & curtain airbag have both deployed. No damage to outer NS of car though?

My question is is it a case of just installing new airbags and using someone with tech to write off the crash data and reactivate airbags or is it a little more complicated, I guess I thought this was the right place to post this if not point a man in the right direction lol.

Tech2 will clear certain crash data from the airbag ecu... Not sure on which circumstances it will/wont. Worst case is another airbag ecu (2nd hand will do) as long as it matches in IDENT (2 letters)... as most of the car are configured with the same airbags in the same place, and these units are not security locked to the vehicle.

Thanks nice to get some clarity on what I should be doing, just weren’t sure I would need security codes and serial number for airbags or whatnot. So best practice, replace airbags, maybe buy second hand airbag ecu unit just in case and hopefully someone with tech2 can set me right again lol
