    Default spring seat mod

    im sorry if im behind on this one but i keep coming up on this spring seat mod, what does it actually do cheers

    it's a nylon sleeve inserted over the lower tail of the front suspension springs to isolate them from the steel spring pan, preventing binding of the two and the 'boing' noise as the built up tension is released when you hit a manhole cover etc.. for the £1.05 each that they are, i fit them whenever i take a spring out..

    i removed these when i fitted some new springs...BAD idea - the springs were constantly "twanging and boinging" - like Mark said - always fit these bad boys to your springs!!!

    Same happened to me, and now the springs are "boinging" all the time. But as they were removed by the bodyshop (I requested them to fit new ones into the irmy kit, but no..), they will now refit nylons free of charge.

    Mark has just put a set on my car and yes the noises has stopped.
