Check the exhaust manifold for leaks, the studs like to snap on these usually one on the right side.
    Thanks, I'll take a look.

Sorry, I thought post on here, as all the car history is on here, just in-case it's a side effect of the mods or something.

I bought this to change the gear knob as mine is gorilla glued on and worn. However I am unsure if it's the correct one. Can anyone advise please before I start pulling the old one to bits?

It's back! with a shiny new inlet manifold with metal swirl flaps etc! Still smoking tho so I'll take the chip box out to see if that stops it. It is also still making the chirping noise at start up, all be it much quieter than before. My guy reckons it may be the egr pipe. So we are going to try that next.

Good afternoon, can I ask some more advice? I've posted here instead of trouble shooting because it seems to be linked to the recent manifold works.

Got an eml and limp mode again. Hooked it up and got the message in the pic. Sure enough the swirl flaps were not moving. So I'm thinking the manifold motor is goosed. However upon clearing the code, everything is back to normal including the swirl flaps moving as they should.

The eml came on after the car was sitting a few days in heavy rain, had water got into somewhere maybe? Or is something more sinister afoot?

    Once again thanks in advance
