Transmission replacement
Hello,
I hope you guys can give an advise whether / how to fix my Opel Vectra (automatic transmission, 2.2 TDI, 2002).
During standard ride I got the Spanner icon warning and car went into limp mode. After few minutes of driving in first gear situation has changed and it was not possible to drive anymore. It felt like the car is not able to shift gears.
I was pulled by a friend to an auto shop where diagnostics was made with error code being P1700. They tried to reset the car from the limp mode, it was possible to drive but after 5 minutes it went into limp mode again.
Unfortunately nobody in my city is willing to try to repair the automatic transmission.
However I have found one guy on a local ebay-like site who is selling what seems to be an compatible transmission (same model of car, year etc.).
My questions:
Is there anything I should check before I proceed with changing the transmission? (some parts numbers etc.?
Is the Transmission control unit part of the transmission?
Is it possible that I will change entire transmission but the problem would be still somewhere else? (e.g. control unit in case it is not a part of the transmission)
Should I ask the spare part seller to include some other part?
I attach images of the spare transmission I am looking to buy.
It costs 150€ with shipping, maybe another 100€ for the replacement.
Seems like I have no other way to fix my car without it being uneconomic than this.
I am willing to take the risk even if the other transmission will be faulty or something. However I would like to have all the information before I proceed.

UPDATE:
finally my car is driving again. This is how it went maybe it will help someone:
I used VIN code to find out exact transmission number (in my case it was AF33)
Then in auto repair shop they replaced the old one broken with this other one and made some computer configuration, not sure what exactly.
Now the car is driving so that is nice.
However I still have the spanner warning light on my dashboard. I was so happy that the transmission was replaced that I just drove off away withouth checking the dashboard first. I will ask them what is wrong.
It was pretty expensive though. The first guy I tried to purchase working transmission turned out to be a scammer so I had to try other guy. That one cost 400$, then 450$ for replacement. But for now the car is driving.

But this is strange with auto repair shops - I wanted the entire car to be fixed. And today after I pointed out there is still something wrong they told me that the things which hold the wheels need to be replaced otherwise I can lose a wheel while driving. Oh really and why are you telling me this only now?
It is like you go to a dentist he fixes that one tooth but does not mention that you also have tongue cancer
