Confirming faulty CIM/Squid

I am trying to diagnose a fault on the SRS sytem, the fault code suggest high resistance on stage 1 and 2 Driver airbag.
Before i replace the CIM/squid i would like be 100% sure that it is the problem.
Are there any further test methods i can do to make sure that i have found the problem rather than just swapping out the part and hoping for the best.

I have tested the resistance on a known good airbag and it measures the same as my own one on the car

has the steering wheel been off recently? Any work done to the steering rack or been disconnected?

No steering wheel hasn't recently been off.
