You got another working laptop or pc in the house right? Well that is where you create the bootable USB media on... that is where you copy the files to ( create a directory called BIOS)and you than take the usb key and boot the laptop with it aka running of the USB key the operating system on the USB key will be DOS... once it is started you go to the directory ( CD BIOS) you put the files in: type in the name of the bios flash tool... (the one with the EXE extension)
Press enter...
Follow the on screen instructions
Done....
It is really that simple.... not worth paying anyone 40 pounds for...

To be fair the laptop was a £50 ebay special. Quad core AMD,1500 with 6 gig of memory and a TB hard drive. Apart from this issue it was a relative bargain. BUT I dont feel competent and if I stuff it up then I brick the laptop.
Is it not possible for someone to complete the required magic and send it too me so I can put it on a usb drive?...Im happy to pay...otherwise ill leave it alone till I can sort, somehow.

So you are saying you don't know how to format a USB key to be bootable? Look back to my previous answers with the link showing you exactly how to do that....
So you are saying you don't know how to copy files to a directory on a USB key? Use the explorer on the pc that you created the bootable usb key with.....
Don't know how to start up from usb on the other laptop... it's a setting in the bios of the laptop you need to downgrade...
You than restart it with the, now DOS bootable, USB key in one 9f the usb ports...
The system will ask you what to start from HDDor USB
Choose USB....
Wait for it to load and when it stops you do as I instructed before. ..
If you can't do that you should not be messing about flashing BIOS at all...
Again because you need the usb media to be able to startup DOS you can't just download some files and copy it to the USB key it won't be a bootable USB key....
Do you get it now?

Thanks
