Crimped cable and Quadlock question

Question, How do you remove the small crimped cables in the plastic plugs ?
Is there some form of locking tab in these ? Or a release ?

I've got an aftermarket Aux cable that has the black plastic plug on it with the three wires in. I want to add these wires to the Quadlock on the stereo.

Looking at the Quadlock it seems you remove the pink retainer/clip and you can push in the female crimped sections in and replace the clip and there held in place ?
Is this correct ?

So after googling, looks like I need a wiring pin removal tool to start with...........
