Astra GTE - Mk2 - Anyone selling one or know of one?

That's correct Steve, I have what was a standard Astra mk2 GTE 16v when I bought it way back in 2004. It's since had a few tweaks here and there and is more track focused now.
@Vaux-Man-G I'd recommend you pop over to http://www.astra-mk2.com where there is a wealth of info they also have a FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/astramk2ownersclub/ which you'll have to request access to. I've had an Astra mk2 of one form or other in my life sonce '95 and know them inside out so feel free to ask me any questions or just pop over to the club forum. I have a full build diary I've kept going for 15 years here but you'll have to register on the Astra mk2 forum to view it.

Prices are on the up and up for the GTE with mint standard cars fetching silly four figure sums and more. I'm sure if you really want one and can get your hands dirty you'll still be paying a few £K if you wanted a 16v and not far behind that for an 8v.

Under the hood it's not you average engine bay with an 8k rpm limited naturally aspired screamer in there.



Plus I've kept the LCD dash as they are so amazing, with the addition of a few choice extra gauges to monitor things more closely and Corsa C ePAS just because

Seen that one, its the Champ edition so expect high pricing but thats just a massive price.
Something will come up.

I saw one about 3 years ago, it was a red G-reg, all original just needed a service, had MOT and was up at £2800, the guy sold it for £2300.

I WAS SO GUTTED! I genuienly just didnt have the time to go for it. That was a kick in the nuts.

There is an 8v gte without pictures on offer as a project car on eBay but.... no pictures so can't geuss the state of it... but it's a project car and priced as such...

The engine and gearbox have been removed and it sounds like it's in bits, also has the caviat "most parts there to complete it", roughly translates to - I've sold some of the good bits, good luck finding them.
