Well, finally got the splint off the leg so got round to the suggestion that @northpole made. Even though I took it the wrong way at first, he was spot on - as I still depend on a scissor jack, it took me longer to get it on the axle stand then it did to actually fix the issue.
Sometimes it might sound that someone is taking the mickey or is being rude... but in this case it was kinda just have a better look and put it back... to me it was kinda obvious, hence the reply... I would suggest you get a trolley jack or if you don't want something big a bottle jack( get one that is capable of 2 tons)
At least it'll account for less work to get the car jacked up.
Been meaning to put this up for a while, only just remembered
It's how I've cut mine into the grille for the gearbox cooling duct, brake ducting would run very similar if done yourself
