    Default My sexy new beast...

Insurance have provided me with a wonderful courtesey car while I receive my pay out cheque... brace yourself for it...

A chevrolet matiz.. this is the 'special edition' which boasts the 1.0 engine, not the 0.8 lol. Slow isn't even the word for this thing.. sounds like a toy engine, keep thinking it's gonna blow on me. I've yet to pass 60mph due to fears for my life and others. Wheels are thin enough to ice skate on, and everything feels very light and plastic-like.

    Miss the Vectra

No pictures of the ill-fated Vectra, didn't get a chance to tbh.. and it's resting in a salvage yard right now too.

Does anyone know about buying a write-off car back from insurers? Admiral told me they don't allow customers to buy back the car, but so many others do..

LOL @ the beast. We call it Spark, but I guess GM kept the old Daweoo name in UK.
The car it self is pretty bad. Gives very little pleasure of driving.
But the engine and the gearbox is bullet proof.
These little engines can live the day to see 200k on the clock. You'l ljust have to change the fuel pump every 30k or so.

As for the great unstability of the car, you need time to feel safe while driving it. And it will take some time. The steering is very inprecise, the cornering extremly poor...the shocking thig is... Ppl drive these cars to the last number of the clock. 100 mph!!
    I know u think they r crazy, you r right ;-)
U'll find it is not very econimical too.

There is one other positive side this car: for the miniatute size, it has lots of space inside, and it gets 3* at ADAC Crash test, so its pretty safe.

Does anyone think that the old 800CC Daewoo Matiz sounds a bit like a Porsche in first and second gear?

One of my friends has one and it has quite a throaty engine sound until you get to 3rd, then it's all downhill from there lol...
