Introducing my XP2 Nav
Hi guys, I wanted to introduce my 2008 vectra xp2 Nav. It has the 1.8vvt engine and sat nav with the aux port. It has just ticked over 83000 miles and backed with a full service history. The dealer that I purchased the car from had done the all important cambelt and the rear coils.
What I've done so far:
-Major service done by me (spark plugs, engine oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter)
-6000k hid kit
-Debadged the back
Future plans:
-Droplinks
-Spray the front v-grill in body colour
-Tints (To get the 'privacy glass' look)
-Snowflakes (still undecided as I love the current alloys)
-Audio upgrade
-Dual exit exhaust system with slightly larger oval tips
I'm sure there's a lot more I want to do but can't think of anymore. 🙄
My thoughts on the car:
Very nice. I love how the engine loves to rev but not a fan of the flat-spots. Fuel consumption is really good for the size of the car. On a recent trip to Stockport, Manchester from London which is a round trip of around 420 miles, the vectra averaged 39.8 mpg. Btw, this was with the boot filled to the brim with luggages and 4 passengers. Averaging 85mph for the whole trip, it's fair to say that the mpg wasn't down to 'going easy on the gas'. Motorway driving brings me onto a downfall of the vectra 1.8 variant. NO 6TH GEAR!!. When driving at speeds of 70+mph I felt so sorry for the engine as it was sitting at over 3000rpm. Nevertheless, I love this car and I couldn't have asked for a better first car as an 18 year old.
Now, I heard a saying on this forum, "if you don't upload a picture of your car, did you really buy it?" So here are some picture of the xp2. Not the best but I will try to get some better pics in the daylight.

Alright mate. I'd be very interested to see if you or anyone else for that matter average a higher speed on the M1/M6 motorways these days. You got the idiots in the outside lane doing 60 in a 70 and completely oblivious to the fact that people want to overtake, then once the lane hoggers are out the way, you reach roadworks which are every 20 miles or so. The point I was trying to make here is that at 85mph, the vectra revs at approx. 3500-3750. I was surprised that it could maintain a good mpg despite revving so high.
But anyways, glad that I could make you 'laugh'. You must be a total speedfreak 🙃
