Default CID display low brightness - Solution

    Hello,
As a many of you with color info display I also have issue with the low brightness. It's almost impossible to see it during the day. I decide to change this. With the help of this forum i understand for the ccfl backlight of the display. I make some googling and found this:
The display exact model is 5.8" TFT-panel Toshiba LTA058B110D
The exact model of ccfl lamp is:
    CCFL special 135-82-135mm x 2.6mm (U x Ø) white.
I order it from Germany and waiting to receive it.
I will post pictures of the replace process and result.

I can post link to the website here.
    Best regards

Also note that I have come across this and was the LCD itself, not the CCFL
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

If you’re still got oem radio what does it show for lcd in settings hidden screen.
I know there’s a display test on cid with t2 can’t remember if you can adjust contrast on it though???

The result is 100% positive. Now I can see the screen in daylight.

I have sent a reply by pm.
The display will always power up when -
1 - You unlock the doors.
    2 - Open the driver's door.
    3 - Switch on the side-lights.

As far as I am aware, there is no facility in normal programming to get the display to ignore the "interior lights on" signal from the BCM.

I have suggested in my pm reply, to briefly pull fuse 17 then lock and unlock the doors to see if this disables the display without losing volatile memories.

Then refit the fuse to verify that the time etc has not been lost.
If the time has not been lost, then you could divert the feed to display pin 5 to an ignition live supply via a 20 amp fuse.

If it does not work, try the same test, but this time, pulling fuse 1.

If this now works as planned, then connect display pin 3 to an ignition live supply.

If neither method works, then you are stuck with the display powering up as described.

The only other way to kill the board computer at unlocking etc, is to disable the board computer in the display code index.
This time, rather than board computer, you will get the date and time on the display when you unlock the car.

Sadly - set like this, you will not get the board computer to display even with the ignition on.
