    Default Engine undertray 1.6 diesel

Hello folks, I’ve recently purchased an insignia tourer, it’s 2015 1.6 diesel ecoflex, I noticed that their is no undertray fitted below the engine, after looking around and speaking to a few people I’m none the wiser as to one should be fitted, some say yes and some say no, any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

go to www.7zap.com select catalogues, select vauxhall, fill in your vin and check if the part is available for your car... that would be the only way to actually check it other than going to the dealer and asking them to check your vin for it.

There's no requirement to have one fitted and as you've experienced, there are 2 camps in support and against them.
    For:
    Aerodynamics (a negligible amount)
Stops any leaks dripping on your drive
    Against:
    Prevents easy access to engine
Stops any leaks dripping on your drive so you don't know if you've got any leaks

Nothing to do with water splash otherwise all engines would have them, it’s for drive by tests when the do emissions and noise testing.

This and it helps keep the bay cleaner... but that is all if they really wanted to close the engine bay of completely they would've done so... my vectra doesn't have it either for the simple reason it was damaged , kept hanging off on one side so i removed it and the frame to it... car is a little louder (you can hear the engine noises better) and when i change gear you can hear the gear selector working, got used to it.... but eventually i will get another one to bring the peace and quiet back to my DTI as it's already louder than most diesel engines by design.
