@OP have you gotten the car scanned yet as that will pinpoint the problem...

Have you located the problem, @chris150 ?
Sorry for the late reply, hadn't seen the interested enquiries until now.
Yes eventually i managed to borrow a scanner, p2279 air intake leak!
After some tinkering I've tracked it to the dreaded egr! Although it had little more than a light scale, it seems to not be closing properly as has now happened 3 times since even after yet another good clean!!!
Anyway I've seriously spat the dummy out with it and have bought a 150 xp11 estate! Currently looking for swirl flap delete info and parking sensor problem diagnosis (has front and rear factory fit) and repair?
(Sorry tried but don't know how to quote both the last replies)
oke that is an expensive solution just buying another car when you could've gone to the scrappy and bought a complete working OEM egr valve as a replacement and just swap it...
anyway there are 2 ways of dealing with the swirlflap delete... buy one of ebay and just swap or diy it... as for the parking sensors problem you'll need to readout the ecu and see why it's not working stuff like that leaves a DTC that points you to a solution.
Vectra VXR estate 2007 Sapphire Black
Teapot Tuned 255/300
Eibachs B8's, fully loaded factory options
Tech2 & MDI diagnostics + SPS
Doesn't matter I forgot one way there are more people on this forum
It may seem a drastic solution but the car has various issues and I'm not willing to spend any more time or money putting band aids on a sinking ship! So decided it's time for a new toy!
I got the swirl flaps welderd up last time but it cost £100 just to weld the manifold! Was hoping for a cheaper option this time, looked at flea bay only found replacements or blanking plugs (that don't fit). They aren't too bad but don't seem to be opening fully, so my thought is if i have to take it apart to clean it then i may as well delete them and get rid of any future issues.l put the car on a cheap OBD scanner as the seller said EML light was on due to blanking the EGR. All that showed up was the EGR, no other codes at all. Does it need to be op-com or tec2 to read faults for parking sensors? It shows the fault light on the dash and on the dash center screen if that helps?
you'll need tech2 or OP-com...
