If no history, factor in a new cambelt, and water pump if driven by the belt.

    At 59K it's due a change.

A new clutch at only 59k seems a bit unusual to me. I recall that some of the 1.8s did suffer from a degree of clutch judder, might be worth asking why exactly it was changed.

Also, further to above comment, the water pump is driven by the auxiliary belt on the 1.8VVT engine, so it's not strictly necessary to change it at the same time as the cambelt.

At 10 years it's due a change - if it's the same as my Vectra the interval is 100K

forget all of that 5k for a 1.8 vvt????have you completely lost it???? 5k is normal for a VXR with FSH, all documents and all keys incl the valet key, well looked after, recently serviced with a fresh MOT and without any dents or scratches... Sent @newboy or @RichM a message and get something that is looked after for less... (that is me assuming they won't be asking 5k)

The original post says £2k, unless I'm missing something? Did you perhaps misread the 59k mileage?

Still dear enough at £2k I'd say, but a hell of a lot better than £5k!!

Yes I did my bad but yeah no I wouldn't even pay 2k for a wel maintained 1.8vvt I would run the other way!
It's overpriced... by a good old 800 to 1000 pounds yeah the mileage is low but that usually means that they need the complete suspension redone because it has never been touched so all is seized...

And believe me vectra's are really good at seizing the suspension bolts and nuts.
