lowering on standard shox

hi all,

thinking of lowering the vec by just changing the springs but what would be the best drop on the standard shox(would it damage them in the future?).

I'd limit any drop on standard shocks to 15mm, any more than that and you'll need sri shocks to go down the next 30 mm, then coilovers to go any lower..

i dropped my SRI 40mm on eibach springs and i loved it ! barely changed the ride quality but it handled superb ! i suppose if your cars standard then the addvice in the previous thread is the way to go ! i have a full set of SRI springs if your only going for a slight drop !!

SOme of the later SXi`s have the sports suspension anyway do they not ? Basically an sri ..

i believe mine is, its an 04 sxi,the spec in the brochure does say sri suspension and the irmscher bumpers.

Standard shocks and lowering springs are not much fun on the vectra as I found out, hit a dip and the shocks cannot recover, it's like riding down the road on a camel with burning feet!
