Default Half an inch lower on off side and squeaking over bumps

    Hello fellow vectra victims!

So it is the season of debt. My vectra c (54 plate) has been knocking for a month or so, and I was waiting for the MOT in jan to get it sorted. However it has now started a really sharp metallic squeak going over very small bumps today (does not sound healthy at all) and the off side is half an inch lower than the near side. Tyre pressures arenít the issue. Ive had a quick look under the car without jacking it up and canít see anything obvious on the lower arm. Whatís the most likely culprit?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes a spring is a likely culprit.

Iíve checked the spring. Doesnít seemed snapped anywhere?

Here are some photos first two is the effected side, second two is the non effected side. Seems like part of the cover is rolled back with some oil there. The oil was fairly fresh (wipes onto tissue) thanks again!

It's short for: what he said...

And that deffo is a broken spring mate... you might not be able to see it without removing the shock absorber on that side...

I wondered what whs was lol. Take a very close look at the springs it is very easy to miss as iv'e found out .The broken end may be lying on a road somewhere. The leaking drive shaft gaiter is a mot fail so best get it fixed.

The squeak is most probably a dry antiroll bar rubber bush. Only time mine didn't squeak was when it rained.

regarding whs, if you put it inside the colon symbols, then it becomes which makes it more obvious.
